Connected Communities

Connected Communities is Cross-Research Council programme established in 2010 and led by the AHRC, designed to help us understand the changing nature of communities in their historical and cultural contexts and the role of communities in sustaining and enhancing our quality of life. It is distinctive in its commitment to supporting research collaborations with communities at all stages of the research process, and in encouraging interdisciplinary and risk-taking methods.

The programme has provided over £30m in research funding, including 324 projects involving over 600 academics, 500 community partners in areas ranging from environmental change, health and creative economies. The programme website provides further information on all projects:
